Scholarship & APC Waiver Policy

IRJIST is committed to supporting researchers, students, independent scholars, and authors from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. To promote inclusive participation in scholarly communication, the journal may grant partial or full waivers of the Article Processing Charge (APC) in deserving cases.

Eligibility for Scholarship & APC Waiver

Authors seeking an APC waiver due to financial constraints may apply to the Editorial Office after acceptance of their manuscript.

The waiver request should be accompanied by the following documents:

For Authors Affiliated with an Institution

  • A self-declaration stating the financial hardship and inability to pay the APC.
  • A recommendation letter from the Head of Department, Principal, Dean, Research Coordinator, or authorized representative of the affiliated institution supporting the waiver request.

For Independent Researchers and Authors

  • A self-declaration stating the financial hardship and inability to pay the APC.
  • A recommendation letter from a recognized academic, researcher, scientist, educator, or professional supporting the waiver request.

For Economically Weaker Sections

Applicants may additionally submit supporting documents such as:

  • Below Poverty Line (BPL) Certificate or equivalent government-issued document.
  • Income certificate issued by a competent authority.
  • Any other document demonstrating genuine financial hardship.

Review Process

All waiver requests shall be reviewed confidentially by the Editorial Office and the Editor-in-Chief. The decision shall be based on the merits of the request, supporting documentation, and the availability of waiver support.

Important Notes

  • Submission of a waiver request does not guarantee approval.
  • Editorial decisions regarding acceptance or rejection of manuscripts are completely independent of APC waiver requests.
  • Authors requesting a waiver will receive the same peer-review, editorial, and publication services as all other authors.
  • The decision of the Editorial Office regarding APC waivers shall be final.

IRJIST reserves the right to grant full waivers, partial waivers, or decline waiver requests based on the information provided by the applicant.
