Publication Workflow
Publication Workflow / Editorial Process
The International Research Journal of Innovation in Science and Technology (IRJIST) follows a transparent, structured, and rigorous editorial and publication workflow to ensure the academic quality, ethical integrity, and timely dissemination of published research.
The editorial process is designed to provide authors with a fair, unbiased, and efficient evaluation of their manuscripts while maintaining high scholarly standards.
1. Manuscript Submission
Authors submit manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system. Submissions must comply with the Author Guidelines, Submission Checklist, and relevant journal policies.
Incomplete or non-compliant submissions may be returned for correction prior to editorial consideration.
2. Initial Editorial Screening
Upon submission, manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the Editorial Office or assigned editor to assess:
- Relevance to the journal’s aims and scope
- Originality and academic merit
- Compliance with formatting and ethical requirements
- Suitability for peer review
Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage without external review.
3. Assignment to Handling Editor
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to a Handling Editor or Editorial Board Member with appropriate subject expertise. The handling editor oversees the peer review process and communicates with reviewers and authors.
4. Double-Blind Peer Review
IRJIST follows a double-blind peer review process, in which:
- Author identities are concealed from reviewers
- Reviewer identities are concealed from authors
Each manuscript is reviewed by a minimum of two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the subject area.
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:
- Originality and novelty
- Methodological rigor and technical quality
- Relevance to the journal’s scope
- Clarity of presentation
- Ethical compliance
5. Editorial Decision
Based on reviewer reports and editorial assessment, the editor may issue one of the following decisions:
- Accept
- Minor revision
- Major revision
- Reject
Reviewer comments and editorial guidance are communicated to the authors to support manuscript improvement.
6. Revision and Re-evaluation
Authors submitting revised manuscripts must address reviewer comments point-by-point. Revised submissions may be:
- Re-evaluated by the handling editor
- Sent back to original or new reviewers, if required
The revision process may continue until a final decision is reached.
7. Final Acceptance
Once a manuscript satisfies all scientific, ethical, and editorial requirements, it is formally accepted for publication. The Editor-in-Chief or designated editor approves the final decision.
8. Copyediting and Production
Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting to improve clarity, consistency, and formatting. Authors may be contacted to review proofs and approve final corrections prior to publication.
9. Online Publication
IRJIST follows a continuous publication model. Articles are published online as soon as they are finalized, ensuring rapid dissemination of research findings.
All published articles are made open access, freely available to readers worldwide.
10. Post-Publication Responsibilities
After publication:
- Authors are encouraged to promote their work responsibly
- Corrections or retractions may be issued if significant errors or ethical concerns are identified
- The journal maintains permanent access to published content as part of the scholarly record
Commitment to Transparency and Quality
IRJIST is committed to maintaining a transparent, ethical, and efficient editorial workflow that supports high-quality research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and global knowledge dissemination.
