Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage Policy

IRJIST recognizes the growing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies in academic writing, language improvement, data analysis, and research support. The journal permits limited and responsible use of AI tools only when such use complies with research ethics, transparency, and scientific integrity standards.

 

Permitted Use of AI Tools

Authors may use AI-assisted tools for:

ü  language editing and grammar improvement,

ü  formatting assistance,

ü  code assistance,

ü  data visualization support,

ü  reference organization,

ü  and limited research assistance.

All AI-assisted usage must be carefully reviewed and verified by the authors before manuscript submission.

 

Prohibited Use of AI Tools

The following uses are strictly prohibited:

o   generation of fabricated or manipulated data,

o   creation of false experimental results,

o   generation of fake citations or references,

o   submission of fully AI-generated manuscripts without substantial human contribution,

o   manipulation of figures, graphs, or images in a misleading manner,

o   AI-generated peer reviews or reviewer comments,

o   plagiarism or paraphrased plagiarism using AI tools.

Any manuscript found containing fabricated, misleading, unverifiable, or unethical AI-generated content may be rejected immediately without further review.

 

Author Responsibility

Authors remain fully responsible for:

ü  the originality of submitted work,

ü  accuracy of data and references,

ü  ethical compliance,

ü  and all statements presented in the manuscript.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors under any circumstances.

 

Disclosure Requirement

Authors should disclose significant use of AI-assisted tools during manuscript preparation in an “AI Usage Declaration” section before the References section.

 

Example:

“The authors used AI-assisted tools for language improvement and formatting support. All technical content, analysis, interpretation, and conclusions were reviewed and verified by the authors.”

If no AI tools were used, authors may state:

“The authors declare that no generative AI tools were used in the preparation of this manuscript.”

 

Editorial Screening

IRJIST reserves the right to:

ü  screen submissions for AI-generated content,

ü  request raw data, methodology clarification, or supporting documents,

ü  and reject manuscripts that raise concerns regarding scientific authenticity, research integrity, or ethical compliance.

 

Policy Compliance

Failure to comply with this policy may result in:

ü  manuscript rejection,

ü  article retraction,

ü  temporary submission restrictions,

ü  or notification to affiliated institutions in serious cases of research misconduct.
